How it works

Agents that pay. Rules that hold.

Your AI CFO reads a supplier invoice, buys a payment-readiness check per request with x402 on Cardano, and pays only after you approve.

The flow

Five steps. One of them is yours.

Every invoice takes the same path. The first three steps run on their own, inside fixed limits. The payout waits for you.

  1. Read

    Claude

Extracts the invoice fields. Nothing more.

  2. Verify

    x402 · Cardano

    Buys a payment-readiness check for 2 tADA.

  3. Route

    Code

Takes the payout account from the verified payee record.

  4. Approve

    You

One approval. Nothing is paid out before it.

  5. Pay

    Cardano or CashXChain

tADA on Cardano Preprod, or a CashXChain payout.

x402

Pay per request. No checkout.

x402 puts the price into the HTTP response. The API answers 402 Payment Required, the agent signs within its limits, and a facilitator settles on Cardano Preprod.

  • Pay per requestEach readiness check costs 2 tADA.
  • No checkoutNo sign-up, no card form. Payment happens inside the HTTP exchange.
  • Pay for results onlyThe seller settles after the report is ready.

Trust boundary

A hard line between reading and paying.

Model

Claude reads.

It extracts invoice fields, nothing else. It cannot choose the payee, the price or the budget, so instructions hidden in an invoice have nothing to act on.

Deterministic

Code decides.

Only an allow-listed verifier gets paid, at a capped price. Payouts go only to the account on the verified payee record.

Human

You approve.

Every payout waits for one approval. Then it pays in tADA on Cardano Preprod, or as a CashXChain payout.

The rules, in code

  • 2tADAPrice per check
  • 3tADAPrice cap
  • 20tADASession budget for checks
  • 1Payment per invoice
  • 10tADAPayout cap per invoice
  • 30tADAPayout cap per session

Payout caps shown are the defaults.

Safety

Five ways it says no.

These are rules in code, not prompts.

Ignored

Prompt injection, ignored

An invoice tells the agent to pay another wallet. Claude only extracts fields, so the instruction has nothing to act on.

Blocked

Wallet swap, blocked

The account on the invoice differs from the verified payee record. That is possible invoice redirection, so it stops.

Refused

Same invoice, refused

One payment per invoice. A repeat is refused, not paid twice.

Held

Missing bank details, held

No IBAN or routing number? It stops before paying anything, even the check.

Locked

Unclear settlement, locked

If settlement is unclear after signing, the invoice is locked instead of paid twice.

Honesty is a feature

What is real. What is simulated.

Real

  • The x402 request and payment cycle, on the official x402 SDK
  • Payments in tADA on Cardano Preprod (testnet, test funds)
  • Invoice field extraction by Claude
  • IBAN, BIC and ABA routing checks, and Cardano address checks
  • The Cardano payout after your approval (testnet)

Simulated, and labeled

  • Corridors, fees, FX and ETA in the report
  • CashXChain fiat payouts: sandbox test ledger, or a labeled simulation without a sandbox key

Not part of it

  • An AML, sanctions or KYB decision
  • Mainnet, or real money
